In 1996 Jack and Mary Geldi founded The Community Music School of Southwest Florida. More than 1,000 students have received music theory, history and appreciation courses, learned to play an instrument, or had vocal lessons. Retirees and the middle aged learn to play instruments and sing. Inner-city preschoolers are introduced to music. Special Olympians, Girl Scouts, Police Athletic Leaguers, Girls Inc., Boys and Girls Club, and Bradenton's 13th Avenue Community Center kids discover and expand hidden music talent.
